William R. Najem O.D.  is a graduate of The Illinois College of Optometry, and received his undergraduate degree in Biology from Kent State University. While attending the Illinois College of Optometry, Dr. Najem was honored to complete an internship at the Naval Hospital in Portsmouth, New Hampshire. Dr. Najem has collaborated with the Vistakon Corporation on the development of the Acuvue Advance Astigmatism and Acuvue Oasis contact lenses. These new lenses are designed to enhance vision and comfort for bifocal contact lens wearers and those suffering from dry eye.

Since earning his Doctor of Optometry, Dr. Najem has committed himself to bringing the finest quality eye care to his patients.  He actively co-manages laser vision patients with many laser centers, and stays abreast of current developments in eye care with a focus on continuing education. Dr. Najem is board certified to diagnose, treat and manage ocular diseases. He is a current, active member in good standing with the Illinois and American Optometric Associations, and holds active licenses in the State of Illinois.  He prides himself on his thorough and personalized exams. With over 10 years of optical experience, Dr. Najem has given over 25,000 exams.

Dr. Najem was raised in Canfield, Ohio and is one of six siblings. He credits his strong sense of family values and solid work ethic to being raised in a large and loving family. Dr. Najem comes from a long line of health care professionals and has followed in the footsteps of his grandfather, Dr. Wade Najem, who became an optometrist after fighting for his country in World War I. Dr. Najem is married to his wife Monica and together they are raising their 2-year-old son Henry.

On his days off, Dr. Najem can be found playing guitar, enjoying a football game, hitting a golf ball around, or exploring the great outdoors.
